AMT Works With Sompo International To Provide Insurance Expertise

Jun 27, 2022

McLean, Va. (June 27, 2022) AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology is working with Sompo International, a global provider of property and casualty insurance. Through this alliance, Sompo International will share their thought leadership through articles in AMT media and speaking slots at AMT member events.

Sompo International has expertise in and experience with advanced manufacturing companies and recently sent representatives to attend AMT meetings in Denver, Colorado, and Bonita Springs, Florida.

Bill Herman, AMT vice president, sales and membership, who oversaw the development of this collaboration over the past several months, commented, “This alliance with Sompo International is a perfect complement to the list of resources AMT provides to our members. As an insurance carrier with the financial stability of an A+ rated company, tailored product solutions, and an experienced risk control team, Sompo International will offer insights that can enhance our members’ own risk management programs.”

Dayton Horvath, AMT director, emerging technology and investments, added, "AMT members have, by nature, a real challenge in assessing and managing risk. The global perspective and expertise that Sompo International has can offer another level of support for emerging manufacturing technology providers looking to manage product liability and technical risks across their product lines."

“We have been impressed with leadership of AMT member companies, as they balance significant growth opportunities with operational challenges such as data breaches and supply chain delays,” said Mike Carroll, senior vice president, technology leader, Sompo International. “We are thrilled to be a resource and look forward to giving as much as we will get from the AMT leadership and the membership."
