Benchmarking Surveys and ReportsThe latest data and analysis on manufacturing.
AMT’s benchmarking surveys is a 30+ year program that uses trusted industry data and reports from 200+ survey participants to provide industry intelligence on capacity and utilization trends. AMT conducts three monthly manufacturing technology surveys establishing order activity by product category in North America. U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders (USMTO) reports on the demand for manufacturing technology in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The Cutting Tool Market Report (CTMR) provides a monthly statement on U.S. manufacturers’ consumption of cutting tools. The Advanced Workholding Technology benchmarking survey provides critical data on the U.S. workholding market.
U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders (USMTO) is a statistical program administered by AMT that collects data on the demand for manufacturing technology in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. USMTO covers 229 unique manufacturing technologies. Any company that either builds or sells any product covered by USMTO may participate. Public data is released the second Monday of every month in the USMTO press release, but the most granular data is only available to participating companies. You can find a full list of products covered at USMTO.com or contact AMT if you have any questions.
The monthly USMTO press release is based on the totals of actual data companies participating in the USMTO program. This report, compiled by AMT, provides regional and national U.S. orders data of domestic and imported machine tools and related equipment. Analysis of manufacturing technology orders provides a reliable leading economic indicator as manufacturing industries invest in capital metalworking equipment to increase capacity and improve productivity.
The Cutting Tool Market Report is compiled using data collected from the Cutting Tool Product Group survey program. Participants include U.S. cutting tool manufacturers, engineering and design companies, and distributors. All participants gain access to the most current and comprehensive cutting tool market information. Explore the program to learn more.
The Cutting Tool Market Report (CTMR) is jointly compiled by AMT and USCTI. Together, our associations represent the development, production, and distribution of cutting tool technology and products. The report provides a monthly statement on U.S. manufacturers’ consumption of the primary consumable in the manufacturing process – the cutting tool. Analysis of cutting tool consumption is a leading indicator of both upturns and downturns in U.S. manufacturing activity as it is a true measure of actual production levels.
This survey program from the Advanced Workholding Technology Group provides critical data on current sales and employment trends in the U.S. workholding market. It also offers information on the regional distribution of workholding sales dollars throughout the United States and export regions. Advanced Workholding Technology benchmarking survey participants have access to new, dynamic reports and visualization tools that show workholding shipment data across multiple years and dimensions.
