Smartforce Development Committee
About Smartforce Development Committee

The Smartforce Development Committee establishes policy and direction to allow our industry to work with educators and ensure that funding and programs are available to sufficiently educate young people in career and technical education programs, as well as in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) so that a consistent flow of qualified, skilled, critical thinking individuals are attracted to seek careers in manufacturing. AMT supports industry credentials for machinists, production technicians and field service technicians through NIMS, as well as welding credentials through the American Welding Society (AWS). Smartforce development is one of three key components of the AMT Manufacturing Mandate. Smartforce Development Committee Members have a dedication, passion for, and experience in implementing best-of-breed education and training programs at their companies and in their communities.
