November Rain? Machinery Orders Exploded in November 2024

September generally marks the high point of the year for orders of manufacturing technology, particularly in Septembers of even-numbered years, when IMTS opens its doors. Since 2016, however, the decline in orders in the following months has gotten noticeably shallower. In IMTS years, September orders average 47% higher compared to the following November, but in 2024, September orders were a mere 0.2% higher.
